The Story
The Giveback Project began with more than the goal of transforming a house. This early 1900s home was purchased by a neighborhood nonprofit with a mission to restore properties, strengthen the surrounding community and reinvest proceeds back into the neighborhood.
The home needed a complete transformation—one that respected its history while creating the function, comfort and appeal today's homeowners expect. Through a full redesign and renovation, the once-tired property was given new life and ultimately sold for a profit, allowing the organization to reinvest those funds into its continued work in the community.
It was a project where thoughtful design had an impact well beyond the walls of the home—and the inspiration behind the name The Giveback Project.
Sparrow's Approach
With nearly every space in the home requiring attention, the design began by looking at the house as a whole rather than treating each room independently. The focus was on improving flow and functionality, making thoughtful use of the existing footprint, and creating a cohesive design that felt appropriate for the home's character while appealing to today's buyer.
Sparrow Home guided the architectural and interior design throughout the renovation—from space planning and design details to finishes, fixtures and materials. Once construction was complete, the home was fully staged and styled to create a warm, inviting presentation that helped prospective buyers envision themselves living there.
The result was a cohesive whole-home transformation that balanced character, function and market appeal while supporting the greater purpose behind the project.
