The Story
This early-1900s Detroit home had fallen into significant disrepair before being given by the city to a neighborhood nonprofit focused on reinvesting in the surrounding community. What began as a neglected property became an opportunity to restore a piece of the neighborhood while creating a home that could feel welcoming and relevant again.
Sparrow's Approach
The design sought to respect the home's original character rather than erase it. Existing architectural details and historic elements were preserved where possible—including original features such as the bathroom sink—while the interiors were thoughtfully updated and styled to give the home a new life.
